Separation of Garbage Materials

In order to comply with certain regulations, the Franklin County Landfill, has designated areas assigned to different materials. While it may be easy to throw all your garbage in the back of your truck or in a dump trailer and haul it to the landfill, we do have separate dump stops for the following materials:

Scrap metal, oil, chemicals, pesticides, paint, fridge/freezers, trees/branches, mattresses, dead animals, batteries, concrete and tires. Semi and larger tires must be dismounted from the rims. When coming to the landfill, if you have any of the listed materials, please know that you will be asked to separate them from the general garbage area. Separating the different materials will help preserve the longevity of the landfill site and make a safer place for our patrons. When bringing a large load (i.e., house, shed, etc.), please call ahead.

When bringing a load of asbestos, please call ahead so arrangements can be made.
